These beautiful brown butterflies are found only on the Sunshine Coast, between Fraser Island and Caloundra.
They are classified a significant fauna species of the Sunshine Coast. Biodiversity Strategy 2010-2020.
Their Gubbi Gubbi name is be’lumbi rai, pronounced B’lmrai.
B’lmrai depends on the elegant cane like native grass, Tall Saw-sedge Gahnia clarkei.
